We chose a webinar format for an informal book launch. Hosted by Governors State University, the webinar allowed the university’s academic leadership, faculty, and graduate students to learn more about public humanities and ask questions of successful public scholars, and also opened the event to a national public audience. Lightly edited versions of each speaker’s segment are available at the links below.
Panelists:
Jim Cocola, Ph.D., Professor in the Department of Humanities and Arts at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Christopher Douglas, Ph.D., Professor of English at the University of Victoria, Canada.

Rosemary Erickson Johnsen, Ph.D., Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Professor of English at the University of Minnesota Crookston.

Carmaletta M. Williams, Ph.D., Executive Director of the Black Archives of Mid-America in Kansas City, Missouri.
